Flint Golf Club

The Flint Golf Club is a private golf and country club that was founded 100 years ago by the titans of the industrial revolution . We worked with the board and management to completely change the culture and management operations of Flint Golf Club. The management structure was changed and new responsibilities were added to key Directors. This new management system has empowered key management personnel and at the same time we eliminated a layer of management. We were able to increase compensation for several management employees and by eliminating a layer of management we actually were able to save money and increase our efficiencies. We were able to update the website, install a wireless system for the whole club, and update the computers and software to make it user friendly with more information and increased interaction with members and staff. For three months we monitored various systems and personnel practices and then initiated a change in operations and procedures to increase efficiencies and at the same time serve the members more economically without a decrease in customer service. The changes we initiated were worked on by SPI Innovations, Evmikna Graphics, Convergent Technologies and the principal of Collective Minds, LLC. When we concluded this project, the client was better prepared to handle changes needed in order to succeed in a very competitive golf and leisure market.

Michigan Universities Coalition on Health (MUCH)

The Michigan Universities Coalition on Health is a group that includes all but one of the thirteen state public universities. This organization includes, Michigan State University, Wayne State, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Michigan, Michigan Tech, Lake Superior State, Grand Valley State, Saginaw Valley State, Ferris State and Oakland University. We recently completed a long term project that ran for over 8 years. We were responsible for the health care initiatives and opportunities available to these organizations when working as a group as opposed to individual negotiations. Recent projects included healthy lifestyles, stop loss and additional health insurance programs. We helped to facilitate all Board and Committee activities throughout the year.

Global-LT, Ltd.

Global-LT is an international corporation with offices in China, the UK, Michigan, California, Arizona, and Massachusetts, that has over 25 years experience with Language Training, Cultural Training, Translation and Expatriate Relocation Services. We were engaged to help reorganize departments, analyze internal operations, create incentive programs and restructure the organizational charts. We worked closely with department heads and helped to set new objectives and work on strategic plans for the near and long term future. This is a very successful company with outstanding employees who were eager and willing to look at their operations from a different perspective. The cooperation and input from the whole organization was a very enjoyable and satisfying experience. We are quite confident that the company was better prepared for the future after our short project ended.

Eastern Asphalt, Inc.

Eastern Asphalt is a well established Mid Michigan contractor that was in need of help restructuring the office and updating the accounting and computer systems. In addition we helped negotiate a new labor contruct with the contractors union as a result of a union effort to organize the labor force. The owner has other interests and we also were involved with the operation of another organzation he owned and were able to put in cost controls and to oversee the installation of POS accounting system.

Capital Area Health Alliance (CAHA)

We were the admnistrators of the Capital Area Health Alliance. This is a health coalition that includes but is not limited to the following organizations: General Motors Corporation, the UAW, Michigan State University, City of Lansing, Sparrow Health System, Ingham Regional Medical Center, Chamber of Commerce, Physician Health Plan, Clinton County, Eaton County, Ingham County, MESSA, Delta Health Plan, Blue Care Network. This is a community-based coalition dedicated to improving the quality and access to health care in the Lansing area at the lowest possible cost. They are also committed to improving the efficiency of the health care delivery system through utilization of a community planning and implementation process. Collective Minds was responsible for the strategic planning, staffing and daily operations of the coalition.

CCAN - Consortium on Child Abuse and Neglect

Collective Minds, LLC has been contracted to develop and implement a strategic plan for a Child Advocacy Center in Genesee County. Collective Minds will assist in a collaborative planning process to engage a number of community partners in this effort. This project is the result of a significant grant from the Ruth Mott Foundation. We are working with various law enforcement agencies, Family Independance Agency, Genesee County Prosecutor, Mott Children’s Health Center, Flint Community Schools, Genesee County Community Mental Health, Hurley Medical Center, McLaren Regional Medical Center, Genesys Health System and various court systems. The purpose of this project is to streamline the forensic interview process with abused children. In addition to collaborate with efforts to obtain zero tolerance for child abuse and neglect in Genesee County.

Cedar Street Children’s Center

Collective Minds, LLC worked on a Strategic Plan to assist the Board of Directors on their Mission and Vision for Cedar Street Children’s Center.

McFarlan Home Board

Collective Minds, LLC was contracted to formulate a strategic plan for the Board of Directors during their June Planning Retreat.

Genesys Health System Physician Advisory Committee

Collective Minds, LLC helped to formulate a precise strategy to enhance their working relationship with Genesys Health System. The strengths and weaknesses of the current business arrangements between the physicians and the hospital system were highlighted in a series of meetings. Our planning sessions have provided a win win situation for both physicians and the medical center.

Priority Children of Genesee County

Collective Minds, LLC was contracted to research the “Feasibility of a Collaborative for Business Model for Non-Profits in Genesee County.”

Washtenaw Asthma Coalition

Collective Minds, LLC was contracted to do strategic planning for the Washtenaw Asthma Coalition.

Ypsilanti Health Coalition

Collective Minds, LLC was contracted to facilitate meetings to enhance the reorganization of the Ypsilanti Health Coalition and to produce an updated mission and vision statement.

Mid Michigan Asthma Coalition

Collective Minds, LLC was contracted to present a Grant Writing Workshop for the Mid Michigan Asthma Coalition.

Flint Cultural Center Corporation

In July of 2001 we were contracted to coordinate the 75th Anniversary of the Mott Foundation and the 18th Annual Children’s Celebration in the Flint Cultural Center. There was entertainment from as far away as New Zealand with exhibitions, food and fun activities for all ages. This is a four day event from July 18 through July 21, 2001. We were hired to facilitate activities of the various organizations that make up the cultural center. The Mott Foundation is one of the leading foundations in the United States with over two billion dollars in assets. The Flint Cultural Center is one of the leading cultural centers in the Midwest for communities of this size.In July of 2002 Collective Minds has once again been asked to coordinate the Flint Cultural Center’s 19th Annual Children’s Celebration.

Daimler Chrysler Corporation

We helped to facilitate a safety conference for the Chrysler Division of Daimler Chrysler in Las Vegas, NV. We participated in the “Bringing Excellence to Safety Teams (BEST). The purpose was to bring all sites into alignment with best practices in place within the corporation and include the benchmarked practices from North American search process.
